Work Christmas party ideas in Sydney for 2026

Published 5 November 2026 · Syd Showgirls

Choose work Christmas party ideas in Sydney around what you want colleagues to do: play together, enjoy a show or follow a host through the celebrations. Drag bingo and trivia offer games, while cabaret brings a performance focus. Brief the host on what suits your crowd before deciding how cheeky to go.

Drag bingo for a playful work Christmas party

Drag bingo combines number calling with music, mini-games and audience banter. A professional drag host runs the game, with bingo gear and calling equipment included. It can work in an office or function room, so start with where you plan to celebrate.

Choose this format if you want a shared activity with room for a little friendly competition. Give the host a clear steer on your workplace’s boundaries. “Cheeky” deserves more explanation than a wink in an email.

Discuss prizes when you enquire. Syd Showgirls runs the prize structure and can advise on what works; many venues and hosts provide their own prizes. Explore drag bingo hire in Sydney to see how the format comes together.

Trivia and musical bingo for your office crowd

For colleagues with a competitive streak, drag trivia brings a quizmaster, custom question rounds and picture rounds. The host handles scoring and between-round entertainment. Suggest a theme your team enjoys, then set the tone.

A pop culture quiz might be your starting point, or you could ask about themed rounds. Keep the focus on what the audience likes rather than choosing questions only the planning committee will enjoy. Find the format on our drag trivia page.

Prefer a soundtrack? Musical bingo replaces numbers with songs, with players marking off tracks as they play. You can choose a decade, genre or mood, and the playlists and cards are built around your crowd.

Consider this for a mixed-age team or colleagues who love a chorus. You can shape the music without asking everyone to take a solo. Compare the options for musical bingo entertainment.

Cabaret and MC hosting for Christmas celebrations

If you want guests watching a live performance, consider burlesque and cabaret. Options range from solo spots to a full revue, with classic glamour, high-camp comedy and specialty acts available.

Check your performance space before settling on an act. Space needs depend on the performance, and the show can be curated to your audience. Ask about wardrobe and routine as part of the brief for burlesque and cabaret shows.

Need someone on the microphone beyond the games? Corporate entertainment options include a professional drag host or MC. Decide which parts of the celebration you want them to lead.
